Caren Kaplan delivered this talk on May 1, 2015 at the Institute for Social Sciences conference series Leading Research in the Social Sciences Today. Kaplan is a professor of American studies at UC Davis.

Kaplan is an affiliated faculty in Cultural Studies and Science & Technology Studies. She is also affiliated with the Humanities Innovation Lab, the Mellon Research Initiative in Digital Cultures and the IFHA research cluster on gamification.
