Computational Social Science

Hosted by Associate Professor of Communication Cuihua (Cindy) Shen.

The Computational Social Science reading group is focused on reading and discussing the latest research on computational social science, broadly defined. It seeks to collectively identify, understand, engage, and critically assess scholarship that uses computational approaches to study various social science issues. The substantive topics of such scholarship can be collectively determined by participants. The reading group has already been meeting regularly since Fall 2016. It has been led by faculty members in the Computational Communication Research Lab as well as graduate students in the Department of Communication. The articles we have discussed so far cross-cut various social science disciplines, and are certainly not just limited to communication.

Open to all. Meeting schedule and location TBD.
