Anthropology Professor Raises $5,000 to Help Save Lions in Tanzania

Monique Borgerhoff Mulder wrapped up a successful fundraising campaign in October to monitor their efforts to stop lion killing in Tanzania, and to determine where and how to expand her her project.

The successful crowdfunding campaign sought $5,000 to buy a vehicle to transport a generator and other equipment for seminars and film screenings in remote communities. These free events have helped Borgerhoff Mulder and her team build sensitivity to the goals of her campaign to protect lions.

Borgerhoff Mulder's WASIMA campaign is funded by the National Geographic Big Cat Initiative. Their work takes place in Mpimbwe, Western Tanzania bordering Katavi National Park.
